Head of FATA inspected a new cargo airport terminal, commissioned in June 2014. Cargo Complex is equipped with the most modern handling equipment, means of inspection and recognition of shipments and so on. The potential annual cargo handling of the terminal may reach up to 50 thousand tons. Currently, the complex services are used by two airlines but in the short term it is expected to attract other companies interested in cargo transportation to Vladivostok.

Alexander Neradko said that the enormous capacity of growth of passenger and cargo transportation was laid in 2012, during reconstruction and construction of transport infrastructure on the eve of APEC summit. Now, he said, the airport has excellent opportunities for further development: attracting new companies and expansion of the routes network in both domestic and international destinations.

Head of Federal Air Transport Agency also visited the passenger terminal, runway, platforms and aircraft parking apron. Airfield infrastructure is in good operating condition and ready for more intensive use, which can be possible due to the increase in passenger traffic of the airport. In 2013, the airport handled more than 1.8 million people. The total figures for this year’s traffic are expected to remain at the level of last year, and in the longer term, if the new airport attracts other Russian and foreign airlines Vladivostok Internatoional will become one of the air harbors that serve over 2 million passengers annually",- said Alexander Neradko.
